COMMON QUESTIONS

DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?

I am currently in the process of discontinuing my relationship with insurance panels. My approach to therapy does not align with the medical model of mental health that underlies insurance carrier expectations for therapy. This is a new change for me and one I am happy to explore more with folks!

HOW MUCH DOES THERAPY COST?

My standard rate for a 55 minute session is $160. I do try to work with folks around financial needs but that happens on an individual basis.

WHAT IS THE CADENCE OF THERAPY?

I am fairly flexible here and open to what makes sense for you and your work. Typically, I see folks every week or every other week for a 55 minute session. If you are interested in doing longer sessions or a different cadence, we can discuss!

HOW AND WHERE WILL I HAVE MY APPOINTMENT?

I offer sessions Monday through Friday generally between the hours of 9 and 4. I am an exclusively telehealth practice so all sessions vill be completed via HIPAA compliant video.

ARE YOU A BORING BLANK SLATE OF A PROFESSIONAL?

I deeply strive to bring my humanity to our work. I was formally trained to be a boring, inauthentic professional (as most therapists are) but have been on a years long journey to unlearn some of that. Your therapy will always focus on you and your goals/emotions/experience but I will bring some of my authentic self to our sessions. We'll laugh, cry, swear and develop our own short-hand to understand your system.

ARE YOU A PERFECT PERSON WHO WILL JUDGE ME FOR THE THINGS I THINK, FEEL, AND AM EXPERIENCING?

Hardly! I am a recovering perfectionist. I am working on healing my own relationship to food, exercise, my body, and my emotions. I don't always choose "good" coping skills. I have been known to lose my shit when I try putting a USB in one way and it doesn't work so I try it the other way and it doesn't work so then I go back to the first way. I go to my own therapy and get individual supervision often. I deeply appreciate people's humanity and hold no judgment for the ways people have learned to protect themselves. ALL parts are welcome -- truly.
